Today the final online meeting on the results of dialectological practice by students of groups UMLf-22, UMLs / o-21, UMLs / o-22 took place in the village of Tatariv, village Yablunytsia and village Chortovets. Practice leaders Professor Vasyl Greshchuk, Associate Professor Mykhailo Bigusyak and Director of our Institute Valentyna Greshchuk analyzed the students’ work, told about the possibilities of further research in the field of dialectology and called not to leave the collected materials, but to multiply them and create dictionaries and books about native villages. The students shared their impressions and achievements, difficulties and joys that accompanied them during the internship.
Oksana Shamliy, a bachelor, is overwhelmed with impressions:
“Dialectological practice was not only one of the stages of our professional training and formation of us as true philologists, but also became the joy, inspiration and desire to continue working after a difficult quarantine school year, because during the whole period of online learning we really lacked live communication and even eye contact with the interlocutors.
Going to the dialectological practice, our group was very worried because we were going to an unfamiliar place, however, already in the train car, when complete strangers were helping us, we realized that we were going to good and kind people. The center of our practice was the picturesque village of Tatariv, which fascinated us not only with its fabulous landscapes, but also with a charming dialect word. Here we were discouraged when we were denied a conversation and sincerely rejoiced when the residents were inspired to tell stories from their own lives, show their different achievements and help us to carry out the program of practice. It was here, in the embrace of high mountains, that we plunged headlong into the study of the native language. These feelings are very difficult to convey. This awe and excitement accompanied us throughout the internship, as if we were small children who had been entrusted with an important task for the first time and they were trying their best to do everything right. And although at first our legs ached from our travels through the Hutsul lands, and then our eyes, when we entered all the marks and zooms in the screens of our computers, but despite all the little things, we are extremely happy to have had the opportunity to get such an incredible experience. will forever remain in our memory and heart”.
Congratulations to our students on the successful internship and we wish further success on the way to the dream profession!
