On April 20-21, 2023, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Institute of the Ukrainian Language, under the leadership of the director of the Institute of the Ukrainian Language of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Pavlo Hrytsenko, organized the scientific conference “Dialects in synchrony and diachrony: methods and techniques of cognition.” The scientific meeting was attended by scientists of Vasyl Stefanyk Prykarpattia National University: professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language Greshchuk Vasyl Vasyliovych, director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Ukrainian Studies, assistant professor of the Department of General and Germanic Linguistics Greshchuk Valentina Vasylivna.
On April 20, at the plenary session, the doctor of philological sciences, professor, director of the Institute of the Ukrainian Language of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Hrytsenko Pavlo Yukhimovych spoke with the report “Research strategies in the study of Ukrainian dialects”. On April 21, at the sectional meeting, professor Vasyl Greshchuk and the director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Ukrainian Studies, associate professor Valentina Greshchuk, presented their report “Lexicographic elaboration of onymic vocabulary in the dictionary “Hutsul dialect vocabulary and phraseology in the Ukrainian artistic language”.
During the sectional meeting of the conference, important problems of dialects were touched upon and the methods and techniques of their study were outlined. Scientific reports caused interesting discussions and discussions. The work of the dialectological scientific forum was completed by a plenary meeting, at which the director of the Institute of the Ukrainian Language Pavlo Hrytsenko and leading dialectologists Mayer Marek, Rafal Sheptynskyi, Andriy Oleksandrovich Kolesnikov and Nataliya Fedorivna Venzhynovych spoke.
The international scientific conference was marked by a high level of work organization, and the reports of leading scientists of Ukraine and abroad were extremely interesting and relevant.
