On October 19-20, the VIII International Scientific and Practical Conference “The Native Word in the Ethnocultural Dimension” was held in Drohobych, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the State Scientific Institution “Institute of Modernization of the Content of Education”, the Institute of the Ukrainian Language of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Maria Curie Sklodowska University in Lublin, the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Philosophical Faculty of the Masaryk University in Brno, the Volyn National University named after Lesya Ukrainka and the Ukrainian Language Department of the Faculty of Ukrainian and Foreign Philology of the Ivan Franko Drohobych State Pedagogical University.
Scientists from Vasyl Stefanyk Prykarpattia National University took part in the conference: Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language Greshchuk Vasyl Vasyliovych, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language, Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Ukrainian Studies Greshchuk Valentina Vasylivna.
The Rector of Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University of Drohobych, Doctor of Philosophy, opened the conference. n., professor Valentina Bodak. Pavlo Hrytsenko – director of the Institute of the Ukrainian Language of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Philology addressed all the participants of the conference with a welcome speech. n., professor; Mykola Pantyuk – vice-rector for scientific work of Ivan Franko Drogobytsk State Pedagogical University, doctor of pedagogy. n., professor; Vasyl Kyrylych – Ambassador of Ukraine to Croatia, candidate of political science. N.; Ivan Kutnyak – dean of the Faculty of Primary Education and Art of Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University of Drohobytsk, candidate of philosophies. n., associate professor; Petro Matskiv – dean of the Faculty of Ukrainian and Foreign Philology of Ivan Franko Drohobytsk State Pedagogical University, Doctor of Philology. n., professor.
The work of the conference began with a plenary session, at which Professor Vasyl Greshchuk and Associate Professor Valentina Greshchuk of the Prykarpattia National University named after Vasyl Stefanyk delivered their report “Vocabulary of funeral and birth rites in the dictionary “Hutsul dialect vocabulary and phraseology in the Ukrainian artistic language”. Their scientific reports were also presented by: Maria Fedurko “The Liberation War of the Ukrainian People against the Russian Federation in the Mirror of Ukrainian Word Formation”, Hanna Didyk-Meush “The Speech of One Village as a Manifestation of the Culture of Its Speakers and the Phenomenon of Ukrainian Vocabulary”, Galina Syuta “The Linguistics of Memory in Texts” of the war period: renewal of the mental-linguistic structure of the mindset”, Svitlana Kovtyukh “Ukrainian language in wartime conditions and prospective aspects of linguistic and national security for the future”, Hanna Sokil, Vasyl Sokil “Ways of expressing national identity in the folk songs of Boykivshchyna (according to the authors’ publications) “, Vira Kotovych “Family life of outstanding Ukrainians in the dimension of the poetic word” and others.
On the same day, sectional meetings were held: Section 1 – A “Principles and problems of ethnological studies of modern linguistics”; Section 1 – B “Principles and problems of ethnological studies of modern linguistics”; Section 2 “Word as a means of artistic representation of ethnoworld”; Section 3 “Socio-cultural aspect of the formation of a linguistic personality”. On October 20, sectional meetings continued the work of the conference.
The VIII International Scientific and Practical Conference ended with the final meeting, which was held in the Ivan Franko Museum-Studio and an excursion to the Naguevichi State Historical and Cultural Reserve.
