On October 25, the director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Ukrainian Studies, candidate of philological sciences, assistant professor of the Ukrainian language department, Valentina Vasylivna Greshchuk, during a laboratory session on the discipline “Methodology of teaching the Ukrainian language”, introduced the students of the UMLso-32 group to the content of the two-volume dictionary “Hutsul dialect lexicon and phraseology in Ukrainian art language” and with the Appendix to this lexicographic work Onymous Lexicon. / responsible editor Vasyl HRESCHUK. Ivano-Frankivsk: Mysto NV, 2023. 404 p., the authors of which are scientists of the Vasyl Stefanyk Prykarpatsky National University, Vasyl and Valentyn HRESCHUKA.
In this additional volume to the two-volume dictionary, words used in literary texts on Hutsul subjects are studied in detail. The authors used a special technique to analyze and explain the words used in Ukrainian literature about the Hutsul region.
“We, as future teachers, philologists, will be happy to use this dictionary and during production educational and pedagogical practice we will be able to use it in Ukrainian language lessons as a didactic material. Such dictionaries are very necessary and valuable for all of us, as they contain and extremely important language material has been recorded and lexicographically worked out. The dictionary will be useful to everyone who is in love with an original folk word,” the students say.
