On March 7, 2024, an educational and methodological seminar of educational and educational deputies, 1st-year curators, graduate students, master’s students of all educational units of the university on the topic “Military themes in poetry and other genres of art” was held, which was organized by the educational and production laboratory of the educational and of psychological and pedagogical work of Vasyl Stefanyk Prykarpattia National University. The moderators of the event were: the head of the educational and production laboratory of educational and psychological and pedagogical work, candidate of psychological sciences, associate professor L.M. Romankova and the head of the seminar, a methodologist of the highest category, candidate of psychological sciences, associate professor Z.V. Yurchenko.
At the seminar, the director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Ukrainian Studies, candidate of philological sciences, assistant professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language Greshchuk Valentina Vasylivna spoke with the report “We will meet where there will be no war – a poetic weapon in the fight against the enemy”, who outlined the main aspects of the military theme in her poetry collection “We will meet where there will be no war…” Valentina Vasylivna talked about how she started writing poetry from the first days of the war, about the release of her collection into the world, and specified whose photo is on the cover of the collection. Just today, two years since the moment when the author wrote her first poem “Why are you silent, “unwashed Russian”, which opens the collection “We will meet where there will be no war”. Valentina Vasylivna poignantly recited this and other poems at yesterday’s seminar. Valentina Hrestchuk’s report was successfully complemented by a presentation, which highlighted the main points during the work on the collection and the presentation of the collection itself, in particular: who were the first to receive the collection, words of support and comments from fans of creativity, a story about the warrior-fellow villager of Valentina Vasylivna – Roman Chervak, to whom the author dedicated one of her poems, and whose portrait is depicted on the cover of the collection. Those present had the opportunity to hear about the solemn presentation of the collection, which took place on September 20, 2022 in the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Universal Scientific Library named after I.Frank, and a creative meeting on October 6, 2022, with supporters of her work in the reading room of the Ivano-Frankivsk MCBS, where the violinist Pavlo Voloshchuk was invited, to whom one of Valentina Greschuk’s poems is dedicated. Everyone then had a good opportunity to enjoy both poetic words and playing the violin. An interesting moment was the viewing of videos with the author’s poetic texts, as well as a video about the creation of illustrations for the collection of poems by the artist Natalia Maizner, in particular, a portrait of the soldier Mykhailo Dianov.
Valentina Vasylivna emphasized the power of the poetic word, the struggle on the language front and the fact that the collection is a kind of educational and methodical material, since Valentina Vasylivna used her poems as illustrative material in the short dictionary of terms “Stylist of the Ukrainian language”, which she recently compiled. Students also actively use poetry when creating videos for the International Mother Language Day, the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, career guidance events, etc.
The seminar was attended by leading specialists of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Ukrainian Studies, who recited poems by Valentina Vasylivna: Oleksandra Kuzyshyn read the poem “Draw me a sun in a peaceful blue sky”, and Rybchak Solomiya read the poem “How are you there, son of Ukraine?”. Students of the Faculty of Philology joined the event: Oksana Boyko, a master’s student of the Faculty of Philology, group UMLf-11m, read the poetry “I will collect all the poems in one bouquet”.
Valentina Vasylivna emphasized that she continues to write poetic texts and hopes that they will soon be included in a new collection.
