On November 7, 2024, an educational and methodological seminar was held for deputies for educational and educational work, 1st-year supervisors, postgraduate students, and master’s students of all educational departments of the university on the topic “Poetic text as a factor in strengthening national-patriotic education in wartime conditions”, which was organized by the educational and production laboratory of educational and psychological and pedagogical work of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. The moderators of the event were: the head of the educational and production laboratory of educational and psychological and pedagogical work, candidate of psychological sciences, associate professor L.M. Romankova and the head of the seminar, methodologist of the highest category, candidate of psychological sciences, associate professor Z.V. Yurchenko.
At the seminar, the director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Ukrainian Studies, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language Valentyna Vasylivna Greshchuk gave a report on “Patriotic education of students of general secondary and higher education using poetic texts” and outlined the main aspects of patriotic education of young people using poetic texts using the example of her collection “We will meet where there will be no war…” and the examples of poems that she is preparing for a new collection. Valentyna Vasylivna introduced all those present to her poetic collection and her work; focused on the very concept of “patriotism” and the importance of patriotic education in institutions of general secondary and higher education; focused on the methodological value of poetic texts that students of the Faculty of Philology use in classes on “Stylistics and Culture of the Ukrainian Language” and “Methods of Studying the Ukrainian Language” as illustrative material.
Valentyna Greshchuk’s report was successfully complemented by a presentation that highlighted the main points, including: a story about Valentyna Vasylivna’s fellow villager, Roman Chervak, whose portrait is depicted on the cover of the collection; drawings by the graduate of the Faculty of Philology, artist Natalia Maizner, which complement the poetic texts of the collection; poetic meetings, actions, educational hours and career guidance work of students of the Faculty of Philology; participation in the poetry marathon “Our Muses Are Not Silent! Together to Victory” and publications in the newspaper “Osvityanske Slovo”.
Those present had the opportunity to watch one of the videos edited by students of the Faculty of Philology (the poem “I am proud of you, my language” is recited by Petryshyn Ulyana). In addition, the audience enjoyed poetry from the lips of the author herself.
The head of the seminar, a methodologist of the highest category, candidate of psychological sciences, associate professor Zoya Volodymyrivna expressed her gratitude to Valentyna Vasylivna for her participation in the seminar, her emotional reading of poems from the collection, and also emphasized the close cooperation with the educational and scientific Institute of Ukrainian Studies in the future.
