The dictionary “Hutsul dialect vocabulary and phrasemics in the Ukrainian artistic language” attracts more and more attention. Today the director of our Institute Valentyna Greshchuk gave an interview to “Halytsky Korrespondent” about the Dictionary. Journalist Natalia Mostova tried to find out all the details of such a lexicographical work. The author of the idea and concept, editor-in-chief, doctor of philology, professor, head of the Ukrainian language department Vasyl Greshchuk spoke about the uniqueness, originality and value of the two-volume edition.
The journalist was largely interested in clarifying the semantics of certain dialectisms recorded in the Dictionary, both among the Hutsuls and the authors of the works, as well as the principles of collecting and arranging illustrations for dictionary articles. The project leader, Professor Vasyl Greshchuk, noted that the dictionary “Hutsul dialect vocabulary and phrasemics in the Ukrainian artistic language” is the result of many years of work, and its importance is manifested primarily in the importance of the Dictionary for the further development of linguistics.
Once again we are convinced that the Dictionary is becoming popular in various fields of science and culture. We very much hope to continue work on the third volume of such an important lexicographical work, in which the onymic vocabulary will be recorded.
