On January 30-31, the regional stage of the XVII International Competition in Ukrainian Studies was held for students of grades 8-11 of general secondary education institutions, which gave students of general secondary education a good opportunity to participate in learning about Ukraine and the Ukrainian world through individual research forms and to develop intellectual potential on the basis of Ukrainian studies . Research papers on Ukrainian studies were reviewed by jury members: scientists and teachers from Prykarpattia in the conference hall of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education. The head of the jury was the director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Ukrainian Studies, candidate of philological sciences, assistant professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language Greshchuk Valentina Vasylivna.
This year, 48 students of general secondary education presented their research works on Ukrainian studies. The topics of the competition works were varied: heroic feats of defender soldiers, glorification of valor and courage of the defenders of Ukraine, commemoration of fallen heroes; information security in the modern humanitarian space of Ukraine; Ukrainian culture: traditions, innovations and creative practices; Ukrainian language, education and science as factors of preservation of Ukrainian identity, etc. The members of the jury objectively evaluated the main provisions and scientific results of the participants’ works according to the approved criteria: relevance and complexity of the chosen topic, systematicity, scientificity and completeness of the disclosure of the topic, argumentation, etc.
The public defense of research works will take place on February 8-9 in remote form on the Google Meet platform.
It is gratifying that in such a difficult time, young scientists are able to present their research. The international competition in Ukrainian studies is not only an important component of education, but also a unique opportunity for young people to show their talents and develop their intellectual potential. Let this competition be a good start for young researchers, we wish them success in their future achievements and invite them to study at Vasyl Stefanyk Prykarpattia National University.
