International partners of the University support Ukraine

Since the first days of the full-scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University has been receiving a large number of letters from foreign partners every day. The level of support shown to us today from all over the world testifies not only to the unity and consolidation of the world academic community, but, above all, to the awareness of the threat from which Ukraine’s Armed Forces are defending Europe and the world today.

First of all, it should be noted that some of the letters were written in Ukrainian. We are sincerely glad that the Ukrainian language and the Ukrainian word are heard all over the world today.

In particular, such a letter came from the rector of the Czech Technical University in Prague Vojtech Petracek, the leadership of the Pomeranian Academy in Slupsk, the dean of the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology Krzysztof Kozewski, the leadership of the Higher School of Tourism and Ecology in Sucha Beskids.

“The leadership and the Academic Senate of the Czech Technical University in Prague condemn the military aggression of the Russian Federation on the territory of the sovereign state – Ukraine. We deeply sympathize with the Ukrainian people for the loss of human lives and express full support and solidarity with Ukraine and declare our intention to help the Ukrainian people”, said Voitech Petracek.

“We are watching Ukraine with great compassion and regret, drawing attention to the actions of the Russian Federation that citizens of such a wonderful country as Ukraine have to endure. First of all, we want to assure you that we provide and will provide all possible support, ”wrote colleagues from the Higher School of Tourism and Ecology in Sukha Beskydska.

The Polish Academy of Sciences has opened a special fund to support Ukrainian researchers who have crossed or are planning to cross the border with Poland. Mateusz Bialas, Acting Director of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Kyiv, made this announcement in his letter.

The aid package was offered by the Pomeranian Academy in Slupsk (Poland). The Pomeranian Academy for Ukraine support program includes, in particular, assistance for students and teachers, and the provision of psychological and social support.

“We are deeply moved, depressed and shocked by the war crimes committed by Russia in Ukraine, where innocent, peaceful and respectful people live. This is extremely condemned. On behalf of our institution, we provide full moral and institutional support to our partners in Ukraine. At the individual level, we have mobilized our partner networks to sign petitions, condemn the aggressor and aggression, help directly to groups seeking help, and so on. We have written messages and letters to Global institutions and key international organizations to put pressure on Russia to end the war unconditionally, ”said Dr. Hasrat Arjumend, founding president and program director of the Mass Institute (Canada).

Our University community would like to express our sincere gratitude to our foreign colleagues for their clear and uncompromising position on Russian aggression in Ukraine, indifference, and for their concrete actions to help Ukraine and our academic community.

TOGETHER WE WILL WIN!
