Under the leadership of the Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Ukrainian Studies, Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Valentina Vasylivna Greshchuk, and Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Vasyl Vasylyovych Greshchuk, graduate students of the Faculty of Philology held professional orientation meetings with future applicants.

Ivanna Kostiv, a student of the UMLso-11th group of the Faculty of Philology, organized a career orientation event for applicants to the Tustan Lyceum of the Dubovetsk Village Council, where she already works as a teacher. The master’s student not only told future students about Vasyl Stefanyk Prykarpatsky National University, its advantages and prospects of studying at the Faculty of Philology, but also shared her personal impressions of studying, demonstrated a presentation about admission conditions, specialties, study specifics and rich student life at the faculty. The graduate student emphasized the importance and demand of this profession in such a difficult time for our country.

Vasylyna Tyminska, a master’s student of the Faculty of Philology (group UMLs/o-21m), held the same meeting under the leadership of the professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language, doctor of philological sciences, Vasyl Hreshchuk, with eleventh-graders on the basis of Delyatinsky Lyceum No. 2. Vasylyna works as a teacher of the Ukrainian language at this lyceum and introduced the high school students to the educational program “Secondary education (Ukrainian language and literature)”, talked about the list of professions that can be mastered at the Faculty of Philology, shared information about entrance exams, academic disciplines, types of practices and rich extracurricular student life. A special moment of the meeting was the acquaintance of the students with Valentina Vasylivna’s poetry collection “We will meet where there will be no war…”. Lyceum students had the opportunity to listen to poetry about language from the author herself, who came to the meeting, and showed great interest in the author’s lyrical diary.

Career orientation work for the students of the City Center for Children’s and Youth Creativity at the initiative of the director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Ukrainian Studies, assistant professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language, candidate of philological sciences Valentina Vasylivna Greshchuk, Iryna Antonyak (UMLso-11m) was conducted. She spoke in detail about the work of the faculty, its divisions, interesting student events and emphasized the fact that language is not only a communication tool, but a deep source that is extremely interesting to explore.

We hope that such meetings will be useful for future applicants, as they will help make the right choice in the future.

In general, studying at the Faculty of Philology is interesting and rich. Under the leadership of the Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Ukrainian Studies, candidate of philological sciences, assistant professor of the Department of the Ukrainian Language Greshchuk Valentyna Vasylivna creatively conduct classes in the 3rd year on Methods of Teaching the Ukrainian Language. Female students of the UMLso-31 group have the opportunity to simulate Ukrainian language lessons using didactic material in laboratory classes. Dictionary work is an important component of Ukrainian language lessons. Using the two-volume dictionary “HUTSUL DIALECT VOCABULARY AND PHRASEMICS IN THE UKRAINIAN ART LANGUAGE” and the Appendix to this lexicographic work Onymic vocabulary. / Responsible editor Vasyl HRESCHUK. Ivano-Frankivsk: City of NV, 2023. 404 p., the authors of which are Vasyl Greschuk and Valentina Greschuk, scientists of the Prykarpattia National University named after Vasyl Stefanyk. Maleta Oksana, who modeled a lesson on the development of coherent speech, and Khrystyna Grogozhnyk, who modeled a lesson on speech sounds, acted as teachers at the class.

Skills and abilities that female students acquire during the course “Ukrainian Language Teaching Methodology” will certainly help them during the course of industrial educational and educational pedagogical practice in the future. This is how they express their hopes for the future practice of the bachelor student: “We hope that during the production educational and educational pedagogical practice, we will be able to implement our knowledge in classes at the Ivano-Frankivsk lyceum. We sincerely thank Valentina Vasylivna Hreshchuk for the opportunity to try herself as a teacher and to take the first steps of modeling lessons. We are looking forward to the start of production educational and pedagogical practice in general secondary education institutions.”
