On February 22, 2024, in the reading room of the central library of the city of Ivano-Frankivsk, the poetry festival “A Little Book in a Great Victory” was held. The event was attended by Carpathian writers, local historians, journalists, and members of the Ivan Franko Society of Writers and Journalists. All those present had the opportunity to immerse themselves in war-themed poetry, which sounded both notes of sadness and despair, as well as positivity, motivation, and hope for the best. The moderator of the event, Tetiana Zaretska, an employee of the local history department of the central library, emphasized that poetry during the war gives hope, inspires, and helps destroy the enemy on the language front. With a moment of silence and joint prayer, everyone honored the memory of those who gave their lives in the fight for independence.
Leading specialists of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Ukrainian Studies of Vasyl Stefanyk National University of Prykarpattia took part in the poetic event, who read soulful and insightful poems of the director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Ukrainian Studies, candidate of philological sciences, assistant professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language Greshchuk Valentina Vasylivna. Oleksandra Kuzyshyn read the poem “Draw me a sun in a peaceful blue sky”, and Solomiya Rybchak read the poem “How are you there, son of Ukraine?”.
All the poems that were sung at the poetry festival once again reminded us of the importance and price of the freedom and independence of our country and made it possible to make sure that poetic lines in today’s difficult times are a real salvation and a unifying force.
