Under the leadership of Valentina Vasylivna, director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Ukrainian Studies, candidate of philological sciences, assistant professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language Greshchuk, third-year full-time and part-time students actively undergo practical training at the bases of the lyceums of the city of Ivano-Frankivsk and Ivano-Frankivsk region, as well as at the bases of general institutions of secondary education in Lviv, Zakarpattia, Ternopil and other regions.

The interns carefully prepare for the classes and actively implement in the lessons all the pedagogical competences they acquired during the study of the discipline “Methodology of teaching the Ukrainian language” and other courses. Bachelor students receive methodical advice from methodical supervisors who regularly attend classes, as well as from experienced teachers. The students try to interest students of general secondary education as much as possible with innovative methods and techniques, various tasks, interesting and informative presentations.

Yarema Maryana, a student of the 3rd year of specialty 014. Secondary education (Ukrainian language and literature) of full-time education, on the basis of Lyceum No. 5 of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council, held her first open lesson in the 5-A class of the Ukrainian language on the topic “Complex sentences with a non-conjunctive and a conjunctive connection”. This is how the student shares her impressions: “I independently developed interactive exercises for the students of the 5-A class, so that it would be accessible and interesting for them to learn a new topic. I was pleasantly surprised that the students’ eyes lit up from the game “Find the right house for the cat” that I had thought out. Each of the students of the 5-A class worked actively during the lesson. I realized that I am moving in the right direction and continue to work and improve.”

Captain Yuliya, a student of the 3rd year of specialty 014. Secondary education (Ukrainian language and literature) full-time education, as part of industrial educational practice and a ten-year study of Ukrainian language and literature at Lyceum No. 5 of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council, held an open lesson for students 6 – In the class on the topic “Soft sign in numerals”. The intern is sincerely happy about the first lesson and expresses her gratitude to the teacher-methodologist and the teacher-mentor: “I was overwhelmed with excitement, because it was my first time in the role of a teacher. However, the support inspired creativity and fruitful work. First of all, I would like to thank the Methodist leader, Associate Professor Valentina Vasylivna for the necessary advice and instructions, and Irina Myroslavivna, the teacher-mentor of Ivasiv, for her ideas and inspiration.” On April 25, Julia held an educational event on the theme of “Easter”, during which students talked about family customs and traditions of Easter, demonstrated their creative skills during the “Colored Easter Eggs” master class. The event was attended by Valentina Vasylivna, who read to the students poetry from her collection “We will meet where there will be no war…” and kindly invited them to get a higher education at the Carpathian National University, in particular at the Faculty of Philology.

Fedenko Anastasiya, a student of the 3rd year of the specialty 035. Philology (Ukrainian language and literature) full-time study, is doing an internship at the Lyceum No. 7 of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council and shares her impressions of the first lessons in the 8th grade: “With great pleasure and I am delighted to express my sincerest words of thanks to everyone who helps me during practice: the faculty head of practice, assistant professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language Greshchuk Valentyna Vasylivna for her mentorship, support and extremely useful knowledge, which she generously shares with her students. Valentina Vasylivna became for me not only a manager, but also a great source of inspiration, which helps me develop as a specialist. At the stage of my professional development, the wise guidance of my professional methodologist, professor of the Department of the Ukrainian Language, Vasyl Vasylyovych Hreshchuk, is very important. Every day of practice brings me joy from communicating with children, love for conducting lessons and great responsibility for my students.”

Students demonstrate their methodological skills and abilities not only during lessons, but also during the organization of educational and extracurricular activities. Kos Anastasia, a student of the 3rd year of the specialty 014. Secondary education (Ukrainian language and literature) full-time, on April 23 at the Lyceum No. 13 of the city of Ivano-Frankivsk held an educational event dedicated to the work of an American singer of Ukrainian origin, a popular performer of advertising jingles in the USA – Tsysyk flowers. Seventh-grade students and guests present had the opportunity to enjoy Ukrainian folk songs performed by the YaMariupol vocal group. This is how the student expresses her impressions of the lessons and educational activities: “For me, practice at the lyceum was another confirmation of my vocation. I am grateful to God for this day, and I also sincerely want to thank all the teachers of the Faculty of Philology for their tireless work in training future philologists and teachers.”
